Chemistry Lab

Our Chemistry lab is equivalent to any other high graded chemistry lab. It is a place where students give practical shape to written work. The lab is equipped with all the apparatus and chemicals required for the performance of experiments like Salt Analysis, Volumetric Analysis etc. The student-friendly atmosphere in the lab helps to enrich the overall personality of the students through motivation.

The Lab is provided with the state- of- the art devices like- Fume hood, Distillation unit, Electronic weighing machine, Bunsen burners, beakers and flasks. Concealed gas line and the safety devices such as Firefighting equipment, First- Aid Kit etc. The acids and other reactive chemicals are stored in separate locked cupboards as a further precautionary measure. The students are provided with separate workstations with individual burners and plug points. The apparatus includes the common place strikers, mortar and pestle, clay triangles, watch glasses, crucibles, crucible tongs, chemical spoon, stirring rods, filter funnels and a variety of stoppers.

Physics Lab

Our Physics laboratory is equipped with modern equipments to help the students learn the concepts of Physics with experiments.Laboratory activities in high school physics provide experience with phenomena, a starting place for the systematic development.

Our students get a virtual experience of experiments on the Educomp smart board and the crocodile physics which they thoroughly enjoy. Although the front of the room is fitted with blackboards and Educomp Smart board and a large demonstration table, the students spend most of their time at their lab tables performing their own experiments. There’s a computer in the lab for the students to reach for data collection and analysis.

Biology Lab

Our school boasts of a highly equipped and well-stocked biology laboratory. The idea is to enable hands on learning by the students, “Learning by doing” being the motto of our bio lab..

The laboratory provides the students with all sorts of facilities, ranging from specimens to innovative smart boards. The laboratory is quite spacious and is creatively decorated by the students. We have permanent anatomical slides of plants. The lab consists of simple and compound microscopes for the students to focus and study slides. The ratio of these microscopes per student is fairly high. We have measuring devices, like analytical balance. Also the laboratory has a variety of apparatus for physiological and ecological experiments, like water bath, oven and Digital PH Meter. We have fire extinguishers in case of an emergency.

Computer Lab

It has advanced infrastructure in terms of hardware and software which cater to the requirements of the students, teachers and the curriculum. The school is equipped with a dedicated broadband Internet connection for enterprising students.

This lab is well equipped with the latest computer systems for the students to discuss each and every aspect of basic computer system. It is used extensively by the students for learning of Foundation of Information Technology, MS-WORD, MS-EXCEL, MS-POWER POINT and MS-ACCESS. It is also used for learning programming in C++, Net Beans and Oracle database programming in classes XI and XII.

Sports

In order to promote all round development of students, the school has always laid stress on supporting activities. In addition to teaching various physical and suporting skills to students,the school encourages multidimensional activities which satisfy human urges of competition.

A healthy mind in a healthy body so goes the saying . In accordance with it we try to encourage sports activities and inculcate sportsmanship even though there is a paucity of ground to practice .Our junior cricket team and senior kabadi team won first prize in sub district competition Aswin Mohan of Xth standard was the goal keeper representing the state school under 17 competition conducted at lakshadeep. Benyamin Thomas of class X participated in state level under 17 basketball competition conducted at chatisgarh .

NSS

We have 44 NSS volunteers each in first and second year. The NSS activities for this Academic Year were flagged off with our Dt. Collector, Shri Mohd. Safeerullahs Ente kulam programme. Our volunteers cleaned a pond in Vazhakulam

The other important programme by our volunteers were , planting 2500 trees in accordance with Green Protocol. They joined with another social organisation and planted 2500 trees on 5th june in our Campus, Muncipal Park, Our School Ground and in the nearby areas. There were two medical camps – one in our Campus on lifestyle Diseases and another an Eye Camp conducted at Uliyannoor, our adopted Village. They Compiled a blood donors directory of about 200 persons. The other programmes were, visit to orphanage, old-age home, community and Campus cleaning, banana cultivation, cleaning a place of historic importance, etc. The Seven- day Residential Camp for first year volunteers was held at Govt. HSS, Kuttamassery. All the staff and students actively participated in all the activities

K G Section

The tiny tots were ushered into the world of learnin g on 7th June. The Induction Ceremony for Tiny Tots was inaugurated by Shri Sudaram Govind, Chairman, Geetha Bhavan Trust. In the kinder Garten section our students are trained in Music, Dance and Geetha Chanting, apart from academics. The students actively participated in making Pookalam along with teachers and sang Naadan pattu.

The KG students were taken for educational tour to sparkys and Thanneerchal. They took part in a rally in and around the School in connection with Childrens Day The cultural and sports festival was conducted in October and November and prizes given to the winners. The Kids Fest was celebrated on 6th December. It was inaugurated by Kum. Arathy Gopinath (Super Dancer 7 fame) It was followed by variety Entertainments by the tots. The kids were given a class on Good & Bad touch by the Mothers Forum members. Our students participated in Geetha chanting competition conducted by Chinmaya Mission. Nanda Kishore H of UKG C won the third prize in the State- level competition. Vaishnav V Pai won the third prize in colouring competitions conducted by YMCA and KLM Foundations.

Red Cross

We have 57 junior Red cross members in our unit. 20 JRC cadets are writing their C level Exam. Anagha Rajeev and Dinesh R were selected as student doctors and were given First Aid Training by Indian Red Cross Society.

Our students are trained to participate in outside competition thereby bringing out the best in the class . In YMCA competition ,we secured the runners up in HSS section .in the ramayana month competition organised by peruvaram ,mahadeva temple , north parur ,our students secured the first place for the third consecutive time . We also participate d in power quiz conducted by KSEB and legal quiz conducted by kerala state legal services commitee – sai prasad ,megha unnikrishnan and haripriya S of class XI secured the second place in the district level .our student also took part in competition conducted by mukti sena united residents association ,manjume nature club ,etc.
