Swami Gopalananda Theertha: The Beacon of Selfless Service

1932-1979

Swami Gopalananda Theertha, born to Smt. Lakshmikutty Amma and Vasudevan Pillai on December 11, 1932, in Midala Desom, Kanyakumari District, emerged as a luminous soul dedicated to the betterment of society. From a young age, he exhibited a profound monotheistic inclination, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Sri. Ellankath Velayudha Pillai. His life's purpose unfolded as he began serving the impoverished and marginalized communities in unique and profound ways.

In 1960, he found his way to Aluva, where he continued his relentless pursuit of social and cultural upliftment. Through 'Matha Paadashaala,' he engaged with children in and around Aluva, leaving an indelible mark in the history of the region. Swamiji's charisma shone brightly through his Geetha classes, capturing the hearts and minds of the people of Aluva. The name Gopalan Nair quickly transformed into a beloved and popular figure within a short span of time.

He embarked on his spiritual journey and received Sanyasa Deeksha from Swamy Athurdas Maharaj, a part of the guruparampara lineage of His Holiness Sree Vidyadhiraja Parama Bhattaraka Chattambi Swamikal. Henceforth, he became known as Swamy Gopalanda Theertha. In 1961, he established the Haindhava Sevasramam at Nochima, Aluva, where his Samadhi now rests, and in 1973, he founded the Geetha Bhavan Trust.

About Us

Vidyadhiraja Vidyabhavan Higher Secondary School was established the year 1973, by Geetha Bhavan Trust initially as a High School and later upgraded to a Higher Secondary status in the year 2004. The first SSLC batch rolled out in the year 1979 with twelve students and has always been in first in the podium consistently.

Our management is unwavering in its dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals. We are committed to imparting not just knowledge but also inculcating values, character, and a profound sense of social responsibility....

Our Vision

Swamiji established Geetha Bhavan Trust with a view to manage all the institutions in 1972. Swamiji wanted all those who are associated with his institutions to go out as responsible citizens. He considered the society as one and channelized activities for improvement of the whole. Geetha Bhavan trust is carrying on swamiji's ideologies and managing Vidhyadhiraja Vidya Bhavan. His alive and Haindava Devarrewem, Nochima. He will be inspiration, role model to guide for true dedicated, disciplined selfless service to society. His divine grace will be in the lives of each and every Vidhyadhirajan guiding them in all their fut.

Our Mission

Aluva was really blessed by the presence of Swamy Gopalananda Theertha, though it was only for a short span of twenty years. It can be boldly said that, if this Saint was absent here, the history of Aluva would have been different. Years have flowed. While looking back just to see whether the wishes of the great soul who worked relentlessly for that had been accomplished, we will understand that there is long way to go. Although Geetha Bhavan Trust has not derailed from the track, the pace at which is going ahead as well as the area covered within its declared goals remains unsatisfactory.

FEATURES & FACILITIES

Chemistry Lab

Our Chemistry lab is equivalent to any other high graded chemistry lab. It is a place where students give practical shape to written work. The lab is equipped with all the apparatus and chemicals required for the performance of experiments like Salt Analysis, Volumetric Analysis etc. The student-friendly atmosphere in the lab helps to enrich the overall personality of the students through motivation.

Physics Lab

Our Physics laboratory is equipped with modern equipments to help the students learn the concepts of Physics with experiments.Laboratory activities in high school physics provide experience with phenomena, a starting place for the systematic development.

Biology Lab

Our school boasts of a highly equipped and well-stocked biology laboratory. The idea is to enable hands on learning by the students, “Learning by doing” being the motto of our bio lab..

Computer Lab

It has advanced infrastructure in terms of hardware and software which cater to the requirements of the students, teachers and the curriculum. The school is equipped with a dedicated broadband Internet connection for enterprising students.

Sports

In order to promote all round development of students, the school has always laid stress on supporting activities. In addition to teaching various physical and suporting skills to students,the school encourages multidimensional activities which satisfy human urges of competition.

NSS

We have 44 NSS volunteers each in first and second year. The NSS activities for this Academic Year were flagged off with our Dt. Collector, Shri Mohd. Safeerullahs Ente kulam programme. Our volunteers cleaned a pond in Vazhakulam

K G Section

The tiny tots were ushered into the world of learnin g on 7th June. The Induction Ceremony for Tiny Tots was inaugurated by Shri Sudaram Govind, Chairman, Geetha Bhavan Trust. In the kinder Garten section our students are trained in Music, Dance and Geetha Chanting, apart from academics. The students actively participated in making Pookalam along with teachers and sang Naadan pattu.

Red Cross

We have 57 junior Red cross members in our unit. 20 JRC cadets are writing their C level Exam. Anagha Rajeev and Dinesh R were selected as student doctors and were given First Aid Training by Indian Red Cross Society.
